Cotton Urges Senate to Consider House-Passed Anti-Trafficking Legislation

Congressman Tom Cotton (R-Dardanelle) today released the following statement on the FBI human trafficking sting in Arkansas:

"Human trafficking is not just a concern in underdeveloped countries, it is a growing problem throughout the United States and in Arkansas. Just last week, the FBI rescued 2 children from a sex trafficking ring that spanned 7 cities in Arkansas and involved at least 6 traffickers. This problem is very real and it isn't going away.

"Last month, the House passed several bills that would help law enforcement better combat this egregious crime. Unfortunately, these bills remain stalled in the Senate, where Harry Reid and his allies have refused to bring them up for a vote. This is inexcusable. The FBI rescued 168 child victims last week, but hundreds more could be saved by the House-passed legislation. I urge the Senate to put politics aside and pass these bills immediately."
