Issue Position

As your Congressman, I will fight to ensure that your rights are protected and that all issues are considered carefully, from all sides. I understand the value of bi-partisanship and pride myself on being an independent thinker, always firmly guided by that oath.

I believe it is the duty of every American to speak out when the freedoms and liberties our Constitution guarantees are threatened.

Whether as a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves or a New York State Senator, I take my oath to uphold our Constitution very seriously. This is why I opposed the New York SAFE Act, which was a misfired gun control initiative which should have never been passed. Yes, I am a proud supporter of the 2nd Amendment, as I am of every other component of our nation's most important document.
