In Washington, D.C., our elected leaders must do more to help create jobs, by eliminating costly mandates, simplifying our complex tax code, reducing burdensome tax rates, and cutting wasteful government spending to lower our nation's deficits.
As a State Senator, I successfully fought on behalf of Long Island families. From repealing the MTA Payroll Tax for 80% of employers, to cutting $13 billion from state budget deficits that were dragging down our economy, progress has been made on many fronts. And by helping enact the nation's toughest property tax cap and cutting middle-income tax rates to the lowest level in 60 years, I have helped protect the hard earned money of my constituents.
What do I call these accomplishments? Just a start.
