Rep. Schneider: Current Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Bill Shortsighted, Cuts Critical Programs

Press Release

U.S. Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) voted against the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations bill today, citing concerns with severe cuts to transit, rail and housing programs.

"Smart investments in transportation and infrastructure are critical to building a strong economy and competing in the 21st Century economy," Schneider said. "Instead of making long-term, forward thinking investments, this bill makes severe cuts to important transit, rail and housing programs that create jobs, grow the economy and benefit our local communities. Cutting investments in these programs is shortsighted, and I'll continue working with my colleagues to properly fund these program."
