Rep. Doug Collins sat down for an extended interview North Georgia This Week for a program to be aired on June 29th. He talked about the IRS deleting of emails. He also commented in upcoming legislation, Majority Leader Eric Cantor's loss, immigration, the refugees on our southern border and Iraq.

It's too soon to tell if Collins will benefit or not from the exit of Eric Cantor as House Majority Leader, but with the exiting of at least 44 congressmen due to retirement, attrition, seeking a higher office or defeat, his profile will be raised in the next session.

In addition, just in the Georgia delegation, there will be three new congressmen which moves him up within that delegation, also.

I asked him before we went on the air if he was staying with his pollster, John McLaughlin, in the aftermath of the abysmal polling for the Cantor race and he said, "McLaughlin is my pollster. On my race, he was dead on." Collins faced a Republican opponent on May 20 and won with more than 70% of the vote.
