Today, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) named State Representative and Illinois' 12th District congressional candidate Mike Bost a "Young Gun" -- their top level of the Committee's "Young Guns' program, which helps to provide candidates and their campaigns the tools they need to run successful, winning campaigns against their Democrat opponents. Bost was one of only ten in the country to be named a "Young Gun."

"Our message of a fiscally responsible government is resonating against an incumbent member who has already lost touch after only 495 days on the job," said Mike Bost, candidate in Illinois' 12th congressional district. The support of the people in the district continues to move this campaign forward and is recognized as such by receiving the NRCC's Young Gun status today."

"Our job as a committee is to help elect Republicans to office that will serve as a check and balance on the Obama administration," said NRCC Chairman Greg Walden. "Mike has outlined conservative principles that will grow jobs, stop the harmful effects of ObamaCare, and get Washington's spending under control. Mike has met a series of rigorous goals that will put him in a position to win on Election Day."

Illinois' 12th District is current held by first-term Congressman Bill Enyart -- a seat viewed as one of the most competitive races in the country. In January 2014, National Journal named the seat among the most likely to flip in 2014.
