Bost Reiterates Call for Secretary to Resign; Asks Rep. Enyart to Join Him

With the VA Inspector General's (IG) interim report calling the systemic problems with the VA widespread,a growing list of Republicans and Democrats are calling for VA Secretary Shinseki to step down, Congressman Bill Enyart continues to push for the status quo, despite nearly two months of national reports of excessive wait lines, delayed treatment and falsifying records, underwhelming congressional testimony by the Secretary and now the interim Inspector General's report.

What does Rep. Bill Enyart see in the VA Secretary's ability to lead that his fellow Democrats are missing?

"It's time for solutions with accountability for an issue that seems to become more dire by the day," said Bost who served as a U.S. Marine. "After the Inspector General's report, it's apparent new leadership is vital in order to usher in a culture of accountability at the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. We must have solutions to fix it and someone who has the confidence of the public and veterans across the country in getting the job done. Unfortunately, Secretary Shinseki has none of these and therefore, it is best for him to resign and I call on Rep. Bill Enyart to join me."
