Obama's War on Coal Causes Friction Between Bill Enyart and...Bill Enyart

President Obama's War on Coal continued today with the Environmental Protection Agency unveiled a job-destroying carbon limit rule, which a recent study indicated it could cost $50 billion a year and eliminate an estimated 224,000 jobs nationwide, including severely impacting Southern Illinois' coal industry. Congressman Enyart -- fully in re-election mode -- released a tepid statement opposing the new carbon rules however, his votes in Congress, some even in the past month, signify two opposing views with himself when he's in his district and when he's voting in Washington.

His votes in Washington clearly agree with President Obama's anti coal agenda -- a deeply troubling sign for Southern Illinois families reliant on the coal industry.

* Voted against H.R. 1582, The Energy Consumers Relief Act of 2013, which would require Energy Department review of EPA regulations (Roll Call 432; 8/1/13);

* Voted against blocking the Obama Administration's rewrite of coal regulations (Roll Call 141; 3/25/14);

* Voted against a measure/budget that calls for scaling back regulations that are harming the coal industry (Roll Call 177; 4/10/14)

"President Obama's anti coal agenda means fewer jobs for Southern Illinois, less opportunities and higher energy prices," said Mike Bost. "It may seem quaint to those inside the beltway but the coal economy has been a way of life for generations of Southern Illinois families, we need a representative that will stand against the president's actions, not behind them. Actions speak louder than words and it is time for Congressman Enyart to match his words in Southern Illinois with his actions in Washington."

How does Congressman Bill Enyart explain these votes? He hasn't said but how long will he go without explaining his actions in Washington?
