The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence announced today its endorsement of Congressman Brad Schneider in his reelection bid for Illinois' 10th Congressional District.
"We are proud to endorse Congressman Brad Schneider, a leader on the issue of gun violence prevention. As a co-sponsor of H.R. 1565, legislation that would expand Brady background checks to gun sales made online and at gun shows, he is a strong champion in Congress to reduce the number of gun deaths every day in this country," said Dan Gross, President, Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.
I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. Incidences of gun violence have reached troubling proportions in our country. We cannot allow this to continue. Safe, sensible gun policy saves lives and strengthens our communities and I am committed to working to prevent further tragic acts of violence," said Rep. Brad Schneider.
"Sending a champion like Congressman Schneider back to Congress sends a loud and clear message that voters want Congress to act on the issue of gun violence prevention, and that starts with expanding Brady background checks to all gun sales," added Gross.
