Joyce Votes to Support Small Businesses Through Tax Relief

Statement

Date: June 12, 2014
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Taxes

Today, U.S. Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) voted in favor of H.R. 4457, America's Small Business Tax Relief Act. This legislation permanently extends small business expensing for equipment and property outlined in Section 179 of the tax code, rather than allowing the provision to continuously expire. Joyce stated:

"Small business is the backbone of America's economy," Joyce said. "I've talked with many small business owners in my district who stress the importance of simplifying the tax code and stabilizing the business environment. This bill will reduce compliance costs and allow small businesses to do what they do best: create jobs and drive our local economy. Encouraging job creation and economic growth in Northeast Ohio remains my number one priority, and I'm pleased to vote for legislation like H.R. 4457 that helps our local entrepreneurs."
