Issue Position: Business Regulations/Government Operations

Issue Position

I know the struggles of a small business owner and I'd like to do more to encourage the pioneering spirit that Oklahoma is famous for. We need to lessen the government red tape that binds the hands of most small business owners and encourage young, creative entrepreneurs to grow their businesses right here in Oklahoma.

The private sector is the key to our state's growth. In addition to fostering small businesses, we need to focus our energies on industries that have a great potential to create wealth and jobs. We've seen time and again that energy, defense and agriculture offer the greatest capacity to create better-paying jobs and raise income.

It's important to me to continue to improve and rethink how government works to solve problems. We do need to adequately fund our state government and provide essential services, but where it intrudes, impedes, obstructs and discourages, it's time for us to take a step back and reevaluate the goals of our state and its people. Of course, we can't legislate prosperity, but we can and must establish the conditions that support it.

There is one way to do that -- growth. Growth in jobs, in income, in industry, in optimism, and in economic progress for all of us.

Not growth in government, or regulation, or taxes.

I have the business knowledge, conservative views on family and marriage, and creative ideas to help encourage change that will make a difference for our state, but I can't do that alone. I need your support. Many of you think like I do and agree with what I've written. It's a good feeling to know that others are behind you. So I ask that you join me, join my campaign however you feel you can, whether it's your time, your voice or your dollars. Help me become the next Senator for District 22.
