"Seventy years ago, more than one hundred thousand courageous Americans and their allies attacked coastal France and stormed the beaches of Normandy. June 6, 1944 provided the Allied forces a foothold to liberate Europe and marked a turning point in World War II. The success of D-Day remains a pivotal moment in European and American history
