U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) issued this statement following the President's remarks regarding the situation in Iraq:
"The world is now witnessing in real time the results of our President allowing politics to dictate his military decisions and not the advice of military commanders on the ground. I pray that for the sake of so many Texans and Americans who gave their lives in Iraq, the President will present a decisive plan to Congress immediately. The people of Iraq and our allies in the region do not have time for a wait-and-see approach from President Obama, and neither do the American people."
