Today, Representative Steven Horsford (NV-4) and Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) met with Assistant Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs Joan Mooney, and other VA officials to discuss the ongoing process of constructing a new Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Pahrump. This meeting was a follow up to a conversation Senator Reid and Congressman Horsford had with VA officials earlier this year about the status of the CBOC.
"Our conversation with the Assistant Secretary today was very productive," said Senator Reid and Congressman Horsford. "The nearly 6,000 veterans in Pahrump have earned the right to have access to the same VA healthcare as veterans living in Las Vegas do. The Assistant Secretary ensured us that the project will come to a completion in a timely manner and we hope construction will begin sometime this fall. We will continue to work together to ensure that the Pahrump clinic is completed to guarantee our nation's veterans always have access to their benefits."
