Today Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada's First District issued the following statement in response to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Inspector General report on the Reno VA Regional Office (VARO).
"For months, I have been calling on the Veterans Affairs Administration to make significant changes to improve the performance of the Reno Regional Benefits Office. There have been a few bright spots, including heeding my request to increase staffing in Southern Nevada," said Titus. "Unfortunately, as was highlighted in a hearing held by my subcommittee in Las Vegas in November, the Reno RO has consistently been among the worst performing Regional Offices. The report issued today by the VA Inspector General is yet another indication that leadership changes are necessary in Reno. There are too many examples of mismanagement to allow the current leadership to continue serving our vets."
