Congressman Tom Cotton (R-Dardanelle) today released the following statement after the House passed the Veterans Access to Care Act of 2014:

"President Obama has claimed for years that fixing our broken VA is a priority, yet he's sat idly by as its leadership and culture has continued to deteriorate. Our veterans deserve better and they shouldn't continue to suffer while an unresponsive bureaucracy sorts out its problems.

"That's why I joined a bipartisan group of 426 of my colleagues in voting for legislation that allows veterans forced to wait more than 30 days for an appointment the option to receive private-sector care. And it would eliminate bonuses for any VA employee until these problems are resolved. It's time to stop talking about the failures of the VA and start fixing them. I urge my colleagues in the Senate to support our veterans and pass this bill immediately."
