Farming and Land Preservation are two of the reasons I first sought public office in 2002. I have said on many occasions that successful farming -- and not government fiat -- makes for the best and truest means of land preservation. If a farmer can make a decent living farming, he won't sell the land. For these reasons, since they go hand in hand, I will continue to fight for both farming and land preservation. I will also continue to support programs such as MALF and Rural Legacy, pending potential budget cuts.
