Issue Position: The Environment and the Chesapeake Bay

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2014
Issues: Environment

John, like so man of us native Marylanders, LOVES the bounty that the Chesapeake Bay provides. Crabs, oysters, Rockfish, perch, etc. etc. John believes that the state of Maryland and it's citizens should do all we can do to protect the health of the bay and our wetlands. This means holding polluters both corporate and private accountable to the laws that have already been enacted by the state legislature and penalizing offenders to the fullest extent of the law. It also comes down to everyone to having a personal commitment to not being a part of the problem but part of the solution. John will look at the laws currently on the books and will actively seek to enforce them. John will seek a balance between promoting business and industry here in Maryland along with ways to improve the overall health of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. And John does NOT believe the "Rain Tax" will do ANYTHING to protect our wetlands!
