Cassidy, Boustany, Scalise, Fleming, McAllister Demand Senate Action on EPA Regulations

Today, Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) joined the Louisiana House Republican delegation to demand that Senator Reid bring House-passed legislation to the floor that would limit the EPA's ability to impose destructive regulations.

The Energy Consumers Relief Act (H.R. 1582), originally introduced by Rep. Cassidy, would require greater transparency, interagency review, and oversight of the EPA's most expensive energy rules.

The Electricity Security and Affordability Act (H.R. 3826), would set realistic guidelines for the EPA's rules and prevent the administration from forcing its cap-and-tax rules through backdoor policies.

Dr. Cassidy released the following statement:

"The EPA is single-handedly implementing regulations that will increase families' utility bills and destroy thousands of jobs in Louisiana. The House passed legislation to stop this over-regulation. Harry Reid and Senate Democrats are supporting President Obama's anti-energy agenda by refusing to consider it. The EPA should not bypass Congress and the American people by unilaterally imposing destructive energy and power regulations."
