Cassidy Looks To Combat Human Trafficking

Press Release

Date: May 21, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy supported bills that look to combat human trafficking. These bills support efforts to prevent human trafficking, increase and streamline law enforcement resources, improve victims' services, and strengthen laws to ensure that both buyers and sellers engaged in sex trafficking are held accountable.

Congressman Bill Cassidy (R-LA) released the following statement:

"As a father, the thought of a child being forced into slavery is heartbreaking. The idea of terrorists targeting schoolchildren for exploitation is equally as horrifying. Every child should have access to quality education and feel safe in a classroom. I'm glad Congress is taking action by passing legislation that will help identify and prevent these crimes. We must remain vigilant in our efforts to stop this epidemic."
