Cassidy Statement on Failure of Senate Energy Bill

Statement

Date: May 14, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressmen Bill Cassidy commented on the failure of the Shaheen-Portman energy efficiency bill in the Senate. It is the first major energy bill in the Senate in more than seven years. Unfortunately, Harry Reid refused to let Republicans offer any amendments to the bill, including one that would build the Keystone Pipeline.

Dr. Cassidy offered the following statement:

"Approving the Keystone pipeline would bring thousands of jobs to Louisiana. It is disappointing that Senate Democrats are unwilling to compromise to make this happen."
