U.S. Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) released the following statement today after voting in favor of H.R. 4031, the VA Management Accountability Act.

"It's time we stand for the military heroes who stood in the face of danger for us," Joyce said. "We continue to hear heartbreaking stories about veterans not receiving the care they need due to mismanagement throughout the VA. I've met personally with veterans in the 14th District to discuss the urgency of this issue. The legislation passed by the House today increases VA accountability by cutting through the red tape that keeps poor-performing senior staff from being fired -- and allowing for them to be replaced by employees who will take caring for our veterans as seriously as they should.

"The White House wants to continue to study what's happening inside the VA. The problem is, our veterans can't wait on the results of more studies. I was proud to vote with my colleagues to start implementing the accountability our veterans deserve."

The VA Management Accountability Act passed the House in a vote of 390-33.
