Today, Dr. Raul Ruiz (D-Palm Desert) released the following statement after Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki resigned:

"I demand that the new leadership at the VA put an immediate and decisive end to this severe systemic misconduct and hold those responsible accountable for their actions. Secretary Shinseki is a distinguished veteran who did the honorable thing by resigning. I now call on the Attorney General to investigate any criminal wrongdoing in order to clean up the VA. As a physician, I look forward to working with the new leadership to find solutions that will stop these bad practices and give our veterans the medical care they need when they need it."
