Congressman Tom Cotton (R-Dardanelle) today announced he will co-sponsor bipartisan legislation in the House to be introduced by Congressman David McKinley (R-WV) and Congressman Nick Rahall (D-WV):
"The power plants regulations announced by the EPA today will have a devastating impact on Arkansas's economy. This regulatory assault on our energy industry must be stopped. That is why I intend to co-sponsor bipartisan legislation to be introduced by my colleagues from West Virginia that will terminate both last year's New Source Performance Standard proposal and today's existing source proposal. The bill will also prevent the EPA from issuing a substantially similar rule for a period of 5 years after the date this bill is enacted.
"I am grateful to both Congressmen McKinley and Rahall for their work on this legislation and applaud similar steps being taken by my colleagues in the Senate to stop these new job-killing EPA regulations."
