Rep. Valadao Releases Statement on U.S. Navy Decision

On Thursday, the Navy released a final Environmental Impact Statement, designating Naval Air Station (NAS) Lemoore as the "preferred alternative" over El Centro Naval Air facility as the home base for the Pacific Fleet's F-35C Joint Strike. Following the announcement, Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-21) released the following statement:

"As a fiscal conservative, this makes sense. From a strategic perspective, this makes sense. This announcement is great for Lemoore and for our community as a whole as Lemoore plays a critical role in the economy of the Central Valley. This will inject much needed economic stimulus into a region severely suffering. I am excited to continue working with Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Base Commander Captain Monty Ashliman as we move forward."
