Capito Supports Terri Schiavos Right to Have Her Day in Federal Court
3/21/2005
CHARLESTON, WV (3/21) Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) released the following statement today after returning to West Virginia from a special Palm Sunday session of the U.S. House of Representatives where she cast her vote to allow Terri Schiavo to have her case reviewed by a federal court
"Early this morning I cast my vote in favor of allowing Terri Schiavo to have her case heard before a federal court," noted Capito. "This legislation does everything Congress can do to give Terri Schiavo a chance to live."
"My thoughts and prayers remain with Terri Schiavo and her family as they deal with these complicated circumstances. I appreciate the hundreds of concerned West Virginians who contacted me over the past few weeks to express their thoughts and in some cases outrage about the circumstances around Terri Schiavo. Their efforts and the efforts of people like them from across the country were a moving tribute to the value Americans place on the life and freedoms of every citizen."
