Rep. Young applauds Gov. Pence for introducing Healthy Indiana Plan 2.0

Statement

After Gov. Mike Pence unveiled Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) 2.0 this morning, Rep. Todd Young released the following statement applauding the state's efforts to modify HIP in light of new health care mandates:

"Long before the federal government conceived of Obamacare, Indiana developed an innovative, bipartisan program to provide health care for Hoosiers who couldn't afford it on their own: the Healthy Indiana Plan, or HIP. HIP is a state-based program that meets the needs of Hoosiers, keeps them in control of their health care decisions, and relies on market principles to keep costs low."

"While the federal health care law has threatened its existence, Gov. Pence and his team have worked tirelessly to adapt HIP to meet new federal mandates while preserving the core mechanics that made HIP work for Hoosiers. I applaud them for introducing HIP 2.0 today, and I look forward to working with the Governor and our Congressional delegation to ensure it gets fair consideration by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services."--Rep.
