Water Infrastructure Clears Hurdle in Empowering Lafayette to Improve Wabash River

As you may recall, Rep. Rokita supported and helped pass the House version of the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA) in October of 2013.

Since then, the Senate also passed a version of this bill. The two bills have been reconciled and the House has now passed the conference version of the bill. The Senate will vote on the bill one last time before heading to the President. An added bonus, this is the first water resources authorization that will pass Congress without earmarks -- a practice that House Republicans eliminated when they took control of the House in 2011.

The changes in the draft that passed in October do not change the impact for the Greater Lafayette area and the Wabash River Enhancement Corporation.
