U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) released the list of programmatic requests he submitted this year for the Fiscal Year 2015 Appropriations process. Programmatic requests convey support for funding of broad programs within a given federal agency.
"In my position on the Appropriations Committee, I've been proud to fight for smart investments in federal programs that strengthen our country and drive critical federal funding to the Chicago area," said Rep. Quigley. "As the House begins to consider the 12 Appropriations bills that will fund our government for the next fiscal year, I want to ensure that we are responsibly guiding tax dollars to the programs that truly need support. Each request I made represents a crucial investment that will help grow the Chicago economy, create jobs, and build stronger communities."
Since his appointment to the Appropriations Committee in 2013, Rep. Quigley has released his programmatic requests annually as part of his commitment to good government reform and making the appropriations process more transparent.
Earlier this year, Rep. Quigley used his position during the 2014 Appropriations process to advocate for funding for transportation, infrastructure and public safety programs in the 2014 Consolidated Appropriations Act that strengthen the Chicago area economy, create jobs and increase safety in local communities.
