U.S. Reps. Ron Barber (AZ-2), Diana DeGette (CO-1), Doris Matsui (CA-6), Grace Napolitano (CA-32), and Paul Tonko (NY-20) today will discuss newly introduced legislation to strengthen the commitment to improve the lives of individuals and families impacted by mental illness.
Critical provisions in the Strengthening Mental Health in Our Communities Act of 2014 include investing in existing programs that prevent mental health crises before they start, enhancing care for underserved populations and improving parity of mental health services.
The group will unveil their legislation in Studio B of the House Visitors Center today at 5:15 p.m. Additional materials will be provided at the press conference and members will host a Q&A after brief initial remarks.
