MORAN ANNOUNCES NEW KANSAS DISTRICT OFFICE

Opens Salina Office to Better Serve Northeast and North Central Kansas

SALINA - Congressman Jerry Moran today announced the opening of a Salina district office to better assist the needs of Kansans living in the northeast and north central portion of the First Congressional District. Moran also announced the hiring of Monte Shadwick and Steven Howe to serve as District Representatives in the office.

"Salina is the largest city in the First District, so it makes sense that I have an office there to assist Kansans," Moran said. "I strongly believe that by adding this location, we will be able to better serve the needs of Kansans in the northeast and north central parts of the state and throughout the district."

Shadwick, the current mayor of Salina, was first elected to the Salina City Commission in 1997 and as mayor in 2000. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1983 with a degree in secondary education and from Kansas State University with a Masters degree in business administration in 1991. Shadwick and his wife, Jannell, have four children.

Prior to opening the Salina office, Howe served the people of the 'Big First' as a legislative correspondent in Moran's Washington, D.C. office. Howe is a native of Manhattan and graduated from Kansas State University in December 2002 with a degree in Speech and Communication. While at KSU, he was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity and of the student sports staff at KSDB FM Radio.
