Today, Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) joined the Louisiana House Republican delegation to ask Senators Mary Landrieu and David Vitter to place a hold on the nomination of Sylvia Burwell as Secretary of Health and Human Services until an agreement is reached to provide for the equitable treatment and protection of all Americans under Obamacare. They write that Louisiana families should not be subject to the individual mandate while large companies are exempt from the employer mandate.
Dr. Cassidy released the following statement:
"It is not fair to Louisiana families to postpone the employer mandate and not the individual mandate. The Obama Administration needs to treat citizens fairly and equally. Until that occurs, Senators Landrieu and Vitter should place a hold on Ms. Burwell's nomination in the Senate to encourage the administration to delay all mandates in Obamacare."
