Letter to John Boehner, Speaker of the US House of Representatives - Remove Representative Grimm from House Financial Services Committee

Letter

Date: April 28, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Dear Mr. Speaker:

This morning, Congressman Michael G. Grimm surrendered to the FBI following his indictment on 20 criminal charges by a federal grand jury.

The indictment charges Mr. Grimm with perjury, wire fraud, mail fraud, obstruction of justice, obstructing and impeding tax laws, and conspiracy to defraud the United States -- concealing more than $1 million in gross receipts and hundreds of thousands of dollars in employee wages.

These are very serious charges. Therefore, I request that you and your colleagues in the House Republican Conference remove Mr. Grimm from his position on the House Financial Services Committee, pending the resolution of this matter. I look forward to your response.
