Cassidy, Boustany, Scalise, Fleming, McAllister Urge Landrieu To Reject Rhea Suh

Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy, along with Reps. Steve Scalise, John Fleming, Charles Boustany and Vance McAllister, sent a second letter to Senator Mary Landrieu to urge her to reject the nomination of Ms. Rhea Suh as Assistant Secretary for Fish, Wildlife and Parks in the U.S. Department of the Interior. Senator David Vitter expressed his opposition to the nomination. Senator Landrieu did not address her position in her response letter. Ms. Suh's nomination will be considered tomorrow by the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.

Dr. Cassidy released the following statement:

"The vote on Rhea Suh tomorrow will show whether Sen. Landrieu and the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee is committed to Louisiana workers and domestic energy production, or if she is a member of President Obama's anti-energy team. Ms. Suh has publicly admitted that she is opposed to natural gas production and helped implement the Gulf Coast oil moratorium. A vote in favor of Ms. Suh is a vote against Louisiana families and against our energy industry. I urge Senator Landrieu to stand with our workers and reject this nomination."
