Cassidy Comments on Senate Energy Committee Approval of Rhea Suh

Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy criticized Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Members who approved the nomination of Ms. Rhea Suh as Assistant Secretary of Fish, Wildlife and Parks in the U.S. Department of the Interior. Ms. Suh has called natural gas exploration a "threat" and helped implement the 2010 Gulf oil moratorium.

Dr. Cassidy released the following statement:

"Today, Democrats in the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee voted against the interests of the people of Louisiana by advancing Rhea Suh's nomination. I am disappointed Sen. Landrieu, as Chair of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, voted for someone who publicly admitted to working against Louisiana oil and gas jobs. Instead of standing with Louisiana families, Sen. Landrieu decided to support Senate Majority Leader Reid and President Obama's anti-energy agenda."
