Cramer Congratulates Flight of the Lady Hawk on Record-Setting Flight

Today Congressman Kevin Cramer congratulated more than 50 crew at Grand Forks Air Force Base on setting two records in unmanned aerial systems (UAS) flight as part of Women's History Month. The all-female members of the 69th Reconnaissance Squadron broke the record for the longest flight without air refueling on record for a military aircraft on March 29th, flying a RQ-4 Global Hawk for 34.3 continuous hours and besting the old record of 33.2 hours. The crew also broke the female flight crew endurance record, which was previously 18 hours.

"What better way to celebrate Women's History month than to make history itself with such an impressive record," said Cramer. "It is an honor to congratulate this crew on making Grand Forks and our state proud while displaying the capabilities of this aircraft. I've often said our military bases are home to some of the smartest and hardest working people in the world, and this record confirms it."
