Today Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, issued the following statement on the President nominating Sylvia Mathews Burwell, Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), to be the next Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS):
"Director Burwell has done an outstanding job at OMB. Her experience, energy, and willingness to listen has been essential to managing the budget process and focusing on the key priorities of the American people. Secretary Sebelius leaves big shoes to fill at HHS, but Ms. Burwell is a great choice to continue to the important work of implementing the Affordable Care Act and ensuring all families have access to quality, affordable health care."
