Today Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen issued the following statement on the new report from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) on the Affordable Care Act:
"Good news from the Affordable Care Act keeps coming in. CBO now projects that more people will gain coverage under the Affordable Care Act and costs to the federal government will be lower -- $104 billion less over the next decade. Premiums in the exchanges are also expected to be 15 percent less than previously estimated in 2016. With millions of Americans now experiencing the benefits of health reform, it's clear that the Congressional Republicans' one note agenda of repeal is simply a political ploy. As we continue to implement the Affordable Care Act, the President and Democrats in Congress will continue to focus on the work of the American people -- growing our economy and investing in our future."
