The President's Health Care Law Is A Complete Debacle

Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) today issued the following statement in reaction to the Obama Administration's decision to extend the Obamacare enrollment deadline.

"This announcement from the Obama Administration only serves as more evidence that the President's health care law is a complete debacle. Just two weeks ago, a spokesman for Health and Human Services said the administration did not have the "statutory authority' to extend this deadline and Secretary Sebelius said on December 31 that there would be no more delays. It is apparent from the contradictory remarks made by Sec. Sebelius that she either does not understand the how law is supposed to work or that she does not care. Are the bureaucrats at HHS really so inept that they cannot figure this out? Why does this administration feel it has no responsibility to be accountable to the American people?

"The consistency of these delays is maddening to hard-working Americans who are trying to comply with the law, but they just don't know what the law is on any given day. Obamacare is so much worse than a broken website. The entire law has been a disservice to Americans who simply want affordable medical care. When historians look back on Obamacare it will be held up as reason number one that the government should not run things. The only surprise about the latest Obamacare delay is that it was not announced on a Friday night or the day before a holiday."
