Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement after the House passed the Pro-Growth Budgeting Act (H.R. 1874):
"This bill will help Congress work better, by providing lawmakers with additional, more accurate information regarding the full economic impact of proposed legislation. This kind of data is critical to House Republicans' efforts to save hardworking taxpayers money, balance the budget and grow good-paying jobs."
H.R. 1874 would require the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) to analyze and report the macroeconomic impact of major legislation.
In the 112th Congress, H.R. 1874 passed the House as H.R. 3582 with Rep. Griffin's support.
