McCaul to Hold Hearing on Boston Marathon Bombings One Year Later--TOMORROW

Statement

Tomorrow, the Homeland Security Committee will hold a hearing entitled, "The Boston Marathon Bombings, One Year On: A Look Back to Look Forward." The hearing will provide an opportunity for Members to review the response efforts from law enforcement officers after the bombing. The hearing will also examine the findings of the Committee's recently released report on the bombings and how law enforcement and the intelligence community can implement the report's recommendations to further counterterrorism efforts.

Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) on the hearing: "As we approach the one year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings, we should take time to look at what lessons have been learned since the tragedy and how we can improve our defenses against attacks in the future. It is the oversight role of Congress to examine these issues, and also to recognize the officials who were instrumental in capturing those responsible. Tomorrow, we will hear directly from the individuals on the ground after the blasts, and those who relentlessly pursued the alleged-bombers. We will also discuss how the recommendations in the Committee's recent investigative report can be implemented in order to help prevent another attack."
