Blumenthal Statement On GM Decision To Expand Recall To Later Model Cars

Statement

Date: March 28, 2014
Location: Hartford, CT
Issues: Transportation

Today, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) released the following statement in response to General Motors' (GM) decision to expand the company's recent recall to later model cars:

"This announcement adds overwhelming weight to my message to GM -- warn drivers to stop driving these dangerously defective cars, and take them off the road. To do the right thing voluntarily, GM should compensate all owners for injuries and damages, and tell them: park your cars until they're really, reliably repaired. For now, verify, and do not trust, these recalled cars."
