President Signs Walz's Bipartisan Bill to Speed Propane to Midwestern Families into Law

Today, Representative Tim Walz announced that his bipartisan Home Heating Emergency Assistance Through Transportation (HHEATT) Act, which passed the House of Representatives at the beginning of this month, was signed into law by the President. Walz joined Transportation Committee Chairman Rep. Bill Shuster (R-PA) to introduce this legislation in an effort to continue providing emergency relief to the ongoing propane and home heating fuels shortage throughout the Midwest. The HHEAT Act will help ensure that propane and fuel supplies are being delivered to consumers as fast as possible throughout the rest of the winter.

"With this being the coldest winter we've seen in decades, we need to be sure folks have an affordable supply of propane to heat their homes for as long as necessary," Representative Walz said. "I'm pleased the President took decisive action on our bipartisan bill. This common sense law will work to by-pass unnecessary hurdles and extend the hours of service waiver until May 31, ensuring truckers are able to safely provide an abundant supply of propane to areas in need, for as long as they need it."
