Lankford: Newest Obamacare Delay Raises More Questions Than Answers

Representative James Lankford (R-OK) released the following statement in response to today's Obama Administration announcement that would extend the March 31 enrollment deadline for an indeterminate amount of time for individuals who haven't been able to enroll online due to the disastrous rollout of healthcare.gov.

"When House Republicans called for delaying implementation of the individual mandate, we never could have envisioned the Obama Administration agreeing to do so in such a complicated and odd way. This latest announcement only brings up more questions than answers: If you've started the enrollment process, when must you complete it? Will you have completed the process when you've paid your first month's premiums? Or will it be when you have insurance cards? Does the Administration plan to arbitrarily cut off the enrollment process when they hit their "target' numbers? Unfortunately, this latest announcement is actually a reversal of a statement Secretary Sebelius provided while testifying in front of the House months ago.

"While many Americans appreciate the additional time they have been granted by the Administration to shop for insurance plans, it is time to seek other alternatives to this mess. My bill, H.J.Res. 110, the Health Care Compact, will offer states the ability to run healthcare in a way that best suits their individual populations. It is time to replace Obamacare with healthcare solutions that are going to make health insurance work for the American people."
