Cornyn: Democrats Should Focus on Creating Jobs, Not Saving Their Own

U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statement responding to a New York Times report that Senate Democrats plan to hold a series of political show votes amid concern they could lose their majority in November:

"It's appalling that as Americans suffer with chronic unemployment and skyrocketing health care premiums, Democrats plan to hijack the Senate with political votes on poll-tested bills they have no intention of passing.

"The American people deserve elected representatives who will focus on how best to create jobs for them instead of holding show votes designed to save their own.

"Republicans look forward to talking about how our policies will best grow the economy, boost job creation, and increase access to quality, affordable health care
