Congressman Doug Collins (GA-09) today welcomed the passage of two important bills that respond to a serious problem brought to light by President Obama's administration: executive overreach.
The House of Representatives passed H.R. 4138, the ENFORCE (Executive Needs to Faithfully Observe and Respect Congressional Enactments of the Law) the Law Act, and H.R. 3973, the Faithful Execution of the Law Act. Congressman Collins is an original co-sponsor of both bills.
Congressman Collins said, "These bills aren't about the many failures of the Obama Administration, because those have only been serious symptoms of a fundamental problem. This legislation is about restoring the separation of powers principles enshrined in our Constitution. On a day when President Obama has once again chosen to amend his signature legislation for blatant political purposes and without consultation with the American people or their Congress, this legislation is more important now than ever."
