U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) released the following statement in reaction to Secretary Sebelius's testimony today before the House Ways and Means Committee that the administration lacks the statutory authority to delay ObamaCare's individual mandate:

"It is puzzling that Secretary Sebelius is now concerned with a lack of statutory authority when it comes to delaying the individual mandate. The administration has already issued nearly two dozen ObamaCare delays, including those for big business and the president's political allies. Since the Secretary has expressed renewed concern with following the law, I am glad to report that I have introduced legislation in the Senate to provide the administration with clear, unequivocal statutory authority to delay the individual mandate whenever a delay is issued for big business. It's a question of basic fairness -- enough of the winners and losers, and enough of the excuses."
