Governor Rounds Announces DOT Deputy Secretary
Gov. Mike Rounds announced today the selection of Kevin Tveidt as the Deputy Secretary of the South Dakota Department of Transportation.
"Kevin has a proven track record of running successful businesses both on the local and regional level," said Gov. Rounds on the announcement.
Tveidt, of Pierre, is the president of a residential construction company. Previously, he worked in the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources, was the General Manager of Special Resource Management, Inc., a 20 person regional environmental consulting company; and was president and general manager of Environmental Technologies, Inc. in Pierre.
Originally from Brandon, Tveidt is a graduate of South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. He and his wife, Connie, have three children.
According to Gov. Rounds, "The transportation system within our state is incredibly important. Our goal is to continually improve our processes; Judy Payne and Kevin are both aware of our high expectations."
Kevin begins his new duties April 4, 2005.
