Gov. Rounds Praises Dedication of Secretary Ellenbecker

Governor Rounds today announced that Jim Ellenbecker, long-time cabinet secretary for the Department of Social Services has chosen April 8, 2005 as his final day of service with the State of South Dakota.

"Jim began his service with state government in July of 1970; and since 1980, has worked for four governors as a cabinet secretary," said Gov. Rounds on the announcement. "He has managed one of the largest and most complex agencies; implemented many changes in his 25 years with Social Services; and most of all, has helped countless citizens who needed help the most. Jim is an outstanding individual and truly deserves the appreciation and thanks of all South Dakotans."

An announcement on a successor will be made in the near future.
