Keating Brings White Ribbon Campaign to Congress for Second Year

In honor of White Ribbon Day in Massachusetts, Congressman Bill Keating has brought the White Ribbon Campaign to Congress for the second year in a row in an effort to spread awareness of the ongoing problem of violence against women and girls.

Congressman Keating, who has been a White Ribbon Ambassador for a number of years, is a long-time supporter of Jane Doe, Inc., the Massachusetts Coalition against Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence.

Said Rep. Keating:

"I am honored to be a White Ribbon Ambassador and bring the Campaign to Congress again as this issue remains very close to my heart. As a former District Attorney, a father, and a husband, I have long worked to protect women from violence and am proud to take the White Ribbon pledge. When women and girls suffer at the hands of an abuser, our entire community suffers. We must join together to support our victims and put an end to these unacceptable acts of violence once and for all. March is Women's History Month and in honor of our crusade to change the future of all women who suffer from abuse, I will be wearing my ribbon throughout the month."

Rep. Keating first brought the White Ribbon Campaign to Congress last year when he distributed white ribbons and solicited support for the cause from his colleagues. This year, the Congressman has distributed the ribbons again and has asked those Members supporting the cause to post a picture of themselves wearing the ribbon.
